Shopping for clothes when you are tall is hard enough. It’s even harder when the only way you can shop is online (thank-you coronavirus).
The good news is, more retailers are releasing collections or edits of clothes specifically made for tall girls (about time - we’ve endured dresses that fit like tops and awfully short arms on jumpers for long enough). I’m sharing a few of my favourite tall friendly shops, starting with the high street contenders.
ASOS
There are 3 reasons why ASOS is great for tall girls.
1. Because of the number of brands that have tall collections, you are guaranteed to find a piece for any occasion.
2. Topshop recently got bought by ASOS. And everyone knows Topshop do the best jeans for tall girls!
3. As tall girls often have larger feet (i'm not sure this is scientifcally proven but I declare it a fact) They have a good range of size 9 shoes, and occasionally feature larger sizes
Next
Another place that do great tall jeans is Next. I recently partnered with Next as part of their Denim Campaign. Working with them made me realise Next is go to place for tall jeans. A great pair of jeans can make you feel confident and comfortable. Nothing excites me more than getting a new pair of jeans, because they are the one item of clothing that I will wear over and over again (jeans and a nice top, right?) Next have the best range of colours for denim and what I love about Next is that they have a range of styles, sizes and fits for all body shapes. As a tall girl, I’m always looking for denim with a bit extra length so the fact that Next jeans come in long as well as petite and curve variations is just perfect! Certain styles even go up to XXL If you’ve always struggled to fit into standard sizes, they even do in-between sizes in 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17.
Chi Chi London
Again, I have worked with Chi Chi London for nearly two years and am one of their ambassadors. The thing that I love about them is their large selection of midi and maxi dresses. As a tall girl, anything looser fitting can give you a great silhouette but also have enough material to cover where it needs to cover. Chi Chi London are my go-to for formal dresses, so if you have a wedding or special event coming up and want something a bit more fancy Chi Chi is the place.
New Look
New look are one of the large number of brands with a dedicated tall section. I love the fact that stores are extending out the same range including tops and bottoms that are a bit longer for tall girls. No more stores making uglier clothes for tall girls. New Look and their tall range pass the test every single time.
Banana Republic
I never shopped at Banana Republic until I heard about their amazing tall section from a fellow tall friend. I love their tall section as it's filled with all the classic items i.e. blazers, trousers and jeans that are often too short for a tall girl.
And of course, there are a host of small business that cater towards tall girls. Next time on #Tallgirlfashiondiaries - I'll do a deep dive into the independent stores that are frontrunners!
