The bit of everything Christmas gift guide

28 November 2020

I have a love hate relationship with Christmas gift shopping. I love it when I know exactly what presents to buy someone and it’s a stress free process. I hate it when I spend hours searching the internet and still don’t know what to get someone.

No doubt Christmas will be different this year but if anything that should mean that gifts for our loved ones should be extra special. Extra special doesn’t have to mean extra expensive - I’m the queen of champagne taste on a lemonade budget, so this is my forte.

To help those that hate Christmas gift shopping, this is the gift guide for you. If you’re wondering what to get your mum, sister, best friend or the person that has everything, then take a glance at this guide for inspiration. Every item is below £100 and will put a smile on the face of whoever is receiving it.

For your mum/step-mum/mum in law

I was introduced to Institut Esthederm after working with the brand, Bioderma. If you have a higher budget or you are buying for a luxury skincare fanatic, Institut Esthederm is perfect! Institut Esthederm is inspired by professional aesthetics, and designed to protect each individual cell that makes up your skin whilst taking care of ageing and reducing the impact of external stressors on  your skin. Skincare is always a great gift for me, especially ones that show results.

The Institut Esthederm Hyaluronic Mask plumps and moisturises the skin whilst smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. I’ve been using the mask for about a month, applying it twice a week and the difference I’ve noticed is amazing. Within one use, I woke up with firmer, more radiant skin. As someone with relatively dry skin, this will be great to hydrate and nourish the skin.

You can purchase the Institut Esthederm Hyaluronic Mask here for £31

Another fantastic product from Institut Esthederm is the Lift & Repair eye masks. For me, December is the month where I get less sleep, alcohol intake is higher and that translates to dark circles and fine lines appearing under my eyes. Infused with Caffeine, Escin and Lift Repair technology, these miracle eye masks will transform the skin around your eyes to be brighter and more youthful-looking.Thanks to the great technology in these masks, you can say goodbye to under eye bags, dark shadows, puffiness and discolouration.

You can purchase the Institut Esthederm Lift & Repair eye masks here for £53

For your Secret Santa gift

If you are doing Secret Santa with your friends this year, Bioderma is a great option. Bioderma are a French owned pharmaceutical company that specialises in dermatological treatments designed to improve the skins health. What is great about Bioderma is that the prices are super affordable and the quality is just great. Both the products in this gift guide are from their Hydrabio range (because this time of year takes all the hydration from the skin).

The Hydrabio H2O Micelle Solution contains Aquagenium® helping to cleanse and remove make-up in a gentle (hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic) way, whilst comforting and providing radiance to the skin. Micellar water is a must for anyone as part of their cleansing routine, this just so happens to be one of the best I’ve ever tried.

You can purchase the Bioderma Hydrabio H2O Micelle Solution here for £10.80

I’ve been a massive fan of Hydrabio moisturisers for a while now. The Hydrabio Serum is another one that is great for a Secret Santa gift. It is a lightweight fluid-gel which allows moisture to be retained in the skin. It includes Niacinamide to help balance the skin's microbiome and has a light fragrance which is so fresh. It lasts all day and is is one of the best face moisturisers I have ever used.

You can purchase the Bioderma Hydrabio Serum here for £18.50

For the home body

This year we’ve all become home bodies. But there’s always that one friend who LOVES being at home and invests so much into their home. For these people, I always go for something that adds nicely to the home but doesn’t take their creative control away. A candle always works well and my candle of choice is from British perfume house, Penhaligon’s. The Elixir Candle is perfect for winter nights. With 30+ hours of burning time, this candle and it’s heavily spiced aroma of rose, eucalyptus, jasmine, incense and wood are the perfect addition to anyones home.

You can purchase the Penhaligon’s Elixir candle here for £36

You can never go wrong with a scent at Christmas. This one is from Shay and Blue London. This brand was created by Dom De Vetta (who previously worked for Chanel and Jo Malone) and creative director, Julie Massé. They make the most beautiful unisex fragrances, including Tallulah’s Camellia, their newest scent! It mixes bluebell wood, white flowers and blond woods.

You can purchase Shay and Blue London fragrances here - the Tallulah’s Camellia scent I mentioned will not be available until next year but they have other great scents

For the person that has everything

I’m a massive fan of supporting independent brands, especially at Christmas. Independent brands offer something so unique and as a business owner myself, I fully understand the joy that you get when somebody buys your product. Which is why I’m all for supporting Independent businesses more this year.

If you’re looking for a present for that person that has everything (and let’s be honest, we all have that friend). Nothing beats a unique item that you can’t find from ASOS, Topshop or Zara. And what’s even better is when you get someone a unique gift and it’s personalised. Which is why I recommend Personalised Handbags or Accessories from Olivia and Gray. Oliva and Gray is an Essex based brand that creates the most beautiful handbags in Vegan Leather. All personalised with foil embossing. I’m obsessed with the Saskia bag in Burnt Orange. There are plenty to choose from if you’re looking for the perfect present for friends and family, and Elisha (the owner) is amazing!

You can get the Saskia cross body bag here for £49

The second gift in my #supportingsmallbrands segment comes from a brand called Sacet who make exclusive jewellery at inclusive prices. Each item is ethically and consciously crafted, coming straight from the craftsperson. I went for the Luija Ear Climber and the Luija Open River Bangle in silver - the shape is just so interesting, which makes it the perfect gift.

You can purchase the Luija Ear Climber here for £42 and the Luija Open River Bangle here for £132

For the organised one

Personalisation creeps up for the second time in this gift guide. It really does make the perfect gift. This episode of personalisation comes in the form of a personalised phone case from Lovecases. Priced at £8, this is such a great stocking filler. It  is lightweight and can be available for a range of phones including… iPhone, Huawei, Samsung, Google & OnePlus

You can purchase the Personalised Black Script Phone Case here - You can also get an additional 10% off with code LOVECASES10

If there is a girl boss in your life who is constantly smashing goals & always busy, they need a gift from Career Girls Daily. Careers Girl Daily is for girls with big dreams, providing them with the resources, encouragement and support to be their best selves. They have the most amazing range of planners and organisers that allow you to take control of your life. My favourite is the Project Book. It contains 203 pages to help you manage the various different projects going on in your life,  simplify your to-do list and streamline your day, whilst providing a weekly overview and a daily to-do list to help you stay on track. It’s a must for a boss woman.
