My Winter Self Care Essentials With Bioderma LABORATOIRE DERMATOLOGIQUE

22 September 2020

If there's anything your skin needs over the coming winter months, it's a good self care routine. Last month, I worked with Bioderma Laboratoire Dermatologique to share my thoughts on a few of their products from the Hydrabio collection. The range from the french pharmaceutical company that drives improved skin performance for dehydrated skin.

This month, I'm back talking about some of my favourite items but this time I'm focusing on their body products from the Atoderm range.

My skin hates cold nights, bitter air and hard water - which is everything I get from the winter season in London. Over the past couple of weeks, I've been using two products from the Atoderm range. It's very similar to the Hydrabio i.e all about the hydration. The range focuses on products for the body tailored to dry, very dry or atopic skin. It uses Skin Protect, a dual biological action that moisturises the skin by stimulating hyaluronic acid whilst protecting the skin thanks to it's lipid- replenishing action. In non-sciencey simple terms it is the perfect range for soothing your skin during the cold weather months.

Growing up with Eczema, I've always had to be careful with the products I put on my body. After doing research, I found out that the Atoderma range can be used on skin that suffers from eczema or itching, leaving it less irritated and reducing the urge to itch and flake.

I was kindly sent the Atoderm Gel Douche Ultra-gentle shower gel. So, let's cover the important stuff...The gel douche is an ultra gentle shower gel for normal to dry sensitive skin (me!). It's mildly scented (it smells super fresh) and does a great job in soothing the skin leaving it silky smooth after I come out of the shower. What I like about it is that it leaves no residue, and doesn't dry your skin out. If I go back to my younger days when I was suffering with eczema, I wish I had this when I was growing up. It's the perfect product for someone who suffers from dry and irritable skin. I've been using this for around 2 weeks, and it might just be becoming the best shower product I've used in my life.

No shower routine is complete without a good old creaming of the body.

The Atoderm ultra-nourishing creme repairs, soothes and protects the skin.  This makes my skin glow. I kid you GLOWS! Just a tiniest bit of this cream works wonders. Again, the creme is packed with Skin Protect which uses Glycerin to deeply moisturise the skin. There's a really good texture to the creme and it's also not oily (I can't stand oily products). A lot of brands think moisture in a cream equates to putting as much oil into a product and that is a big no-no. But not the Atoderm ultra-nourishing creme. If there's anything you need to keep your skin hydrated in the winter months, it's these two!
