A visit to Dorsett City

26 April 2018

Located in the heart of The City, right next door to the Aldgate station, Dorsett city stands high in terms of its height (13 floors) and the quality of its services.

I live in London, so I bet you're thinking, why is this girl paying to stay at a hotel in the city she lives in? Staycation is the answer. We had a dinner reservation at the Darwin Brasserie at the Sky Garden and had planned to check out a couple of bars in the East London area. So, to save myself the embarrassment of getting my stiletto heels caught in the escalator at the underground station (it happened two weeks ago!) - we opted to stay at Dorsett City.

On our arrival, the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. Sadly, I got to the hotel at 5pm, so wasn't able to enjoy much of the facilities (Gym, Jin Bo Law rooftop bar and the room service menu - on my list for next time).

We stayed in a Superior Plus room on the 12th floor (to my pleasant surprise, the hotel satisfied the request I made when booking the room). And it was stunning! The room & en suite were gold and stylish, everything a blogger could ask for!

The hotel runs on the concept of British style meets Asian hospitality. And it definitely delivered on both of these. The rooms are really clean, spacious and modern (the touchscreen door bell tool is pretty cool). With a super comfy bed to dive into when you have been walking around in heels all evening. As we stayed in a Superior Plus room, we had a drinks bar and complimentary stocked mini fridge, toiletries from The White Company (such a nice little touch), bathrobes and slippers.

What I really loved is the 'Handy' mobile phone. Yes, there was an actual mobile phone in the room.

The 'Handy' mobile phone acts your little personal tour guide, which is great if you're in London for the first time and want to make the most of your visit. The device is linked to your room number, and you can take it out and about with you. Handy allows you to take advantage of Google Maps, preloaded special offers and discounts at loads of different attractions and Internet without needing to constantly find the free wifi spots.

Can we all take a minute to appreciate these views?

So, if you're looking for somewhere high quality to stay in London, I certainly recommend Dorsett City. They even have the odd promotion on their website from time to time.
