5 Autumn Trends For Less Than £30

18 September 2019

Is it me or is this year going SUPER fast? January, February and March felt like they were never ending, and then April, May, June, July and August flashed before my eyes. And here we are at September, my favourite time of the year for one reason and one reason only...the start of Autumn.

Autumn means Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Cosy Nights In, Darker Lipsticks and dare I say it, the count down to the Christmas.

But first, Autumn Fashion. What's in trend? And what's in trend on a budget?

Prints

Dark Florals for Autumn? Groundbreaking - no, really.
Florals are like that zit that never goes away. They're here every season and they're not going away this Autumn/Winter. Think florals but with a hint of Gothic...all the florals in deep reds and vibrant purples. A floral Maxi Dress is great as a summer to winter transition piece - wear it on it's own during the hotter days, pair it with a thicker jacket and boots for the chillier ones. Mine is from Primark and I've seen it on just about everyone.

Checks are another one! I feel like this is a recurring trend that comes around every single year. If it's not a tartan print, it's a houndstooth - this autumn is all about mixing and matching check print in the same outfit. A couple of my favourite check print items are from Nasty Gal and Nobody's Child (via ASOS).

Small (slightly pointless) bags
I actually love this trend of small bags that allow you to fit exactly 1 ten pence coin in. Roll on the memes. The impracticality of the bag is what makes it such a great trend. I SAW IT FIRST and Boohoo do amazing ones.

Outerwear - Brown and Heroic

This one was made for me! Brown Outerwear is a dream. I did a post last year, the 10 coats You Need This Autumn featuring a gorgeous nude brown coat from New Look. I don't want to put the label 'fashion physic' on my blog but here we are talking about brown outerwear a year on.

And whilst we're on the topic of outerwear, let's talk about Capes. I had a Burberry brown cape years ago and now I am kicking myself for letting it go. One of the trends that is giving me actual life is the cape. Because every superhero needs a cape, right? Check out this cape for under £30 brought to you by ASOS.

And for the evening, Satin.

It may have been left in the 90s but what a reappearance it is making thanks to Versace, Christopher Kane, Off-White and Brandon Maxwell. Is there anything more sexy than a satin slip for dinner and drinks? I'm trying to think about how I can wear this on a evening because let's be honest, evenings get cold in London but I think a leather jacket and simple strappy heels is the answer. Let's all take a collective moment to appreciate this one from ASOS

Corduroy

And finally, another material coming back is Corduroy. I last remember wearing Corduroy when I was 5. And they were a pair of bright red Coudroy trousers, fashionable I know. But I'm loving the oversized corduroy jackets (brown, of course) for that Autumnal afternoon walk in the park look. My Autumnal afternoon walk in the park dreams are coming true thanks to Lily Lulu Fashion (I also can't help but link these gorgeous Corduroy trousers from Topshop)
